Position Overview - Account Executive
Desired Experience/Education: Three to five years of demonstrated sales experience in a health care setting. Bachelor's degree preferred.
General Description: The Account Executive is responsible for the management and growth of all aspects of their assigned market segment and/or territory in relation to offering the gift of hospice to patients and their families. A primary responsibility is to identify, build and nurture professional relationships with caregivers and decision makers in a variety of market segments including hospitals, home health agencies, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior centers and other community gathering places. The objective is to reach more eligible patients and admit them earlier in their end of life journey into hospice so both the patient and their family receive the care and support needed. The Account Executive represents the organization in all health care and public settings.
Specific Duties: Ability to drive data driven growth of assigned hospice market segments. Must be able to identify formal and informal leaders, decision makers and care givers within facilities and build strong professional relationships with each. The ability to build relationships with physicians, nurses, case managers, discharge planners and other healthcare workers that yield admissions for eligible patients, is a success measure for this role. This position will require driving to the previously mentioned facilities and/or meeting with individuals in assigned territory to assure they understand the referral process and depth of quality our hospice program offers. In addition, this position will create and offer educational in-services and other sales training identified as helpful to referral sources in assigned territory. An understanding of hospice eligibility, compliance regulations, documentation requirements, familiarity with Hospice Conditions of Participation, state and federal regulations related to hospice, patient characteristics and needs that indicate an appropriate hospice referral and other operational procedures is necessary. This position requires strength in teamwork, working closely with clinical team leads as well as facility administration. The Account Executive (AE) will create and implement quarterly growth plans, weekly sales call plans, daily sales call plans to include at least 10 calls/day and pre-call plans for each sales call all of which align with the quarterly growth plan. This role will be expected to meet pre-determined quarterly goals, including developing and expanding accounts to demonstrate month over month growth. Additionally, the AE will maintain daily documentation in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool including daily and weekly call schedules, appointments and activities. The AE will also possess a willingness to work with and assist Access, Admissions and Liaison teams with Pre-Assessment Visits, Consent Visits and managing intake process of patient and their family.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be able to work fluently in Microsoft Office products and other software packages utilized within the Circle of Life business suite of software. Ability to clearly present data in an individual or group setting. Requires an individual to use critical thinking and analytical skills to enter data accurately to drive business objectives Excellent organizational skills. Experience in managing and coordinating projects, setting priorities and managing multiple tasks. Ability to meet deadlines and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and attention to detail. Requires advanced skills using Microsoft Office applications. Prefer past experience using electronic health records systems and Customer Relationship Management software. Ability to work well with managers, co-workers and the public. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Available for after hours and weekend referrals. Must maintain a good driving record and have reliable source of transportation and/or be willing to drive company car to assigned territories and other designations as indicated by job need.
