Position Overview:
The Quality Control Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring food safety and product quality by conducting inspections throughout the manufacturing process. They are responsible for monitoring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and quality guidelines. This entry-level role requires a keen attention to detail, a proactive approach to food safety, and effective communication skills to collaborate with production staff and Quality Control Technicians.
Responsibilities, Skills, and Experience:
- Conduct routine quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Monitor production practices to verify adherence to GMPs and food safety guidelines.
- Collect samples for further testing by Quality Control Technicians.
- Accurately document inspection results and report any non-conformities to Quality Control Supervisor.
- Perform Daily, Weekly, and Monthly inspections to uphold a clean and safe work environment, aligning with GMPs and Pre-Requisite Programs.
- Assist production supervisors and management in maintaining compliance with GMP and HACCP standards.
- Attend departmental meetings and participate in ongoing training to stay current with quality control protocols.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration.
- Good problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented approach to inspections.
- Ability to accurately complete and submit required documentation and quality-related forms.
- Familiarity with basic measuring and testing equipment, with a willingness to learn.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some experience in food manufacturing or quality control preferred.
- Basic experience or exposure to GMPs in a food production environment; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time. This role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Daily exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, and noise.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and move heavy objects.
- Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.
- Must follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE, when required.
Other Duties:
- Follow food safety and quality protocols.
- Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and safe work practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this role is:
16 - 16 USD per hour(Fort Worth, TX)
