Job Summary : The Safety Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the facility"s safety programs and ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations. This position focuses on administrative tasks, including maintaining records, organizing training sessions, and preparing safety documentation, while also assisting with routine safety inspections and coordinating emergency preparedness activities. The Safety Administrator serves as a resource for promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities and Skills :
Administrative Support :
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare and distribute safety-related communications, such as emails, memos, and notices.
- Compile data for safety metrics and generate reports for management review.
- Schedule and coordinate safety meetings, training sessions, and certification renewals.
- Track and document workplace incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
Training and Program Management :
Learn and utilize the company's training program software to create and distribute training materials.Develop and upload training content into the program and ensure it aligns with company policies.Track employee participation in training programs and ensure compliance with required training.Generate reports on training completion and identify gaps in employee training compliance.Documentation and Compliance :
Assist with OSHA recordkeeping requirements, including maintaining the OSHA 300 log and preparing reports.Keep safety-related documentation up-to-date for audits and regulatory inspections.Track deadlines for safety program updates, inspections, and compliance tasks.Communication and Coordination :
Act as a liaison between employees and management to report safety concerns or hazards.Organize Safety Committee meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes.Coordinate mock emergency drills, document participation, and record details for analysis and improvement.Inspection and Monitoring Assistance :
Support the scheduling and documentation of routine safety inspections.Assist with maintaining and monitoring emergency response equipment, such as first aid kits and fire extinguishers.Track and ensure timely resolution of identified hazards or corrective actions.General Administrative Tasks :
Manage the safety department's calendar, including scheduling meetings and deadlines.Maintain inventory of safety supplies and assist with ordering PPE and first aid equipment.Answer and direct calls, emails, or messages related to safety matters.Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience in workplace safety is required.Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and OSHA regulations is required.Strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn safety and training management systems.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to work in both an office setting and on the production floor as needed.Must be able to go on long inspection walks that may take several hours.Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.Other Duties :
Follow food safety and quality protocols.Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), housekeeping and safe work practices.Other duties as assigned.The pay range for this role is :
