Description
Position Title : Electronic Health Record (EHR) Trainer
Summary of Position : Under the supervision of Chief Technology Officer, this position will be responsible for the training of all team members on the practice management and electronic health record systems as well as other software as deemed necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Instruct training programs for new and established team members through onsite training, remote assistance or webinar review.
Provide onsite and remote support to new team members and established team members as indicated.
Review, evaluate, and test new software. Implement approved process flows with team members.
Assist in the development of documentation to assist with the software training program.
Assists users to identify software and procedural requirements.
Assist analyst teams with new office onboarding, office workflow reviews and helpdesk processes as needed.
Maintain excellent customer service while working with team members.
Ensures the software functions efficiently daily and remains in safe functioning condition.
Stays abreast of leading-edge information technology, communications and healthcare software applications as related to Athenahealth.
Essential EHR Training duties include, but are not limited to :
Implement online training system and develop (Quick Reference Guides, Video Guides) for online training system
Work with EHR Informatics to develop reports that identify training opportunities.
Develop IT Training / EHR Training for New Employee Orientation.
Develop Position based EHR Training to be deployed as elbow-to-elbow training, video training and quick reference guides.
Monthly Meetings with practice managers to discuss EHR / IT training needs.
Software License Management
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills Required :
Knowledge of electronic medical record processes, problem identification, medical data processing practice.
Skilled with critical thinking and the ability to solve critical problems, coordinate simultaneous efforts, recover from data loss, speed up development, improve program efficiencies.
Ability to be oriented to end-user support needs across multiple sites.
Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and oral.
High school diploma or GED
Must have exceptional communication skills compatible with a wide range of audiences.
Experience in a medical environment is highly desirable
Attention to detail, flexibility, and accountability are keys to success in this role.
Have a personal vehicle available to facilitate traveling to other sites to troubleshoot and resolve support tickets in person, if necessary.
Eager to embrace differences among people and interact with internal staff as well as external contacts in a culturally competent and respectful manner.
