Senior Quality Engineer

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team. Take the lead in managing the Quality program and organization at the Tampa site. This role is dedicated to bolstering the Operations of the business while harnessing the tools of the CIRCOR Operating System to facilitate systemic process enhancements throughout our organization. You will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis. Above all, this position will be instrumental in championing the needs of our Customers and will be a valued member of the Tampa Leadership Team.
Principle Activities
• Oversee the Corrective Action Report (CAR) and Shop Incident Report (SIR) systems, along with all non-conformance activities.
• Ensure readiness for certification preparation, actively support shop-level Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA), implement an effective vendor quality review process, and support team development as needed.
• Lead transformation projects, including inspection process improvements, MRB process enhancements, quality management system updates, and ongoing certification to ISO 9001 or other relevant QMS standards.
• Facilitate continuous product and process flow by providing necessary
• Support on-time project delivery by ensuring the timely completion of QA documentation packages. Train and coach team members to integrate quality into daily operations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify root causes of issues, implement effective countermeasures, and follow up to ensure sustained improvement.
• Build strong relationships with third-party and customer inspectors to understand their expectations and streamline shipment release processes.
• Assist Operations in reducing customer-reported quality issues (e.g., VIRs, SCARs, LOAs) to improve customer-vendor performance scores.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- 3 years experience as a Quality Manager in Manufacturing/Industrial setting
- Demonstrates knowledge of defense contracts and specifications, with ability to collaborate effectively with shipyards and DCMA inspectors.
- Familiarity with FAR clauses and contract requirements to ensure proper flow-down and compliance throughout production and inspection planning.
- Experience working with military inspections
- Background in Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies, including root cause analysis and corrective action.
