Role

The Production Specialist plays a critical role in optimizing manufacturing operations by working closely with production and assembly teams to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability. This position will be responsible for machine programming, setup, process refinement, and troubleshooting complex production challenges. This position may assist with the development and standardization of manufacturing procedures, transforming production workflows into clear, structured Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while modernizing and digitizing legacy work instructions to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery and equipment on the assembly line to produce high-quality products.
  • Utilize hand and power tools for fabrication and assembly tasks.
  • Follow detailed instructions and blueprints to ensure accurate product assembly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and workflows.
  • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Assist in training new employees on production techniques and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations within the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a factory or manufacturing environment, preferably in production roles.
  • Strong with the ability to operate various hand and power tools effectively.
  • Experience working on an assembly line with a focus on quality control.

This role requires an experienced and knowledgeable resource within the organization in supporting and streamlining the manufacturing processes for variety of cable connectivity products at our manufacturing plant in Irvine.

  • As a hands-on contributor you will not only provide solutions to the machining, over molding, and design and revising processes as needed to ensure optimal manufacturing capacity.
  • Develop procedures for economical and cost effective production in cooperation with new product development but the overall production departments.
  • Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables.
  • Services, troubleshoots and solve production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation.
  • Requires understanding of compliance, to AS9100 and ITAR requirements (certification in process) and translating these parameters into existing practices.
  • May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials.
  • Contributes to new production equipment validation, software validation, process characterization, process improvements, safety implementation, and supporting new product introductions.
  • Provide guidance to production teams and technicians in relevant areas.
  • Support overall production line output, including and not limited to preventing/addressing line down concerns, production scrap dissection with root cause analysis and corrective actions, equipment related issues, material supply concerns, supporting NCMRs, CAPAs, and other business interruptions.
  • Coordinate the design, procurement, build, debugging and qualification of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.
  • Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput through the use of Lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Create and Maintain manufacturing process, equipment, finished goods, and material documentation.
  • Troubleshoot prototyping and maintain existing in house tooling with manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machined parts to verify adherence to design specifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Education Level: HS plus advanced and ongoing learning in applicable areas and/or relevant years of experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years.
  • Experience Details: Related work experience.
  • Knowledge of the cabling industry and ability to learn new technologies as the organization expands their production capabilities.
  • Relevant types of experience could be someone with 3D-Printing, CNC Machining or similar hands-on skills.
  • Thrives on being hands on and digging into the details of manufacturing processes
  • Task prioritization and time-management skills with a calm and patient demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to fabricate and assemble components according to specifications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.96 - $35.06 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
