Job Description
- The Internship program at COTA gives students and those seeking internships the opportunity to learn more about the live events industry. Interns experience a true hands-on work environment while assisting staff members with all aspects and responsibilities that go into producing all types of successful events COTA puts into production.
- Circuit of the Americas is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented team player that knows how to balance networking and relationship building with the attention to detail that is required for successful execution of events.
- This will be an unpaid, in-person internship with compensation for major events.

Internships at COTA run in unison as University semesters
- Spring Semester (January-May)
Work is scheduled weekly in coordination as university program requires. COTA requests:
- Hours/Week: 20 - 25hrs/week, 2-3 days a week in office
- In-person/on-site work at COTA - Circuit of the Americas Campus, Austin, TX
- COTA partners with several universities throughout the state. We believe there should be opportunity options for individuals who are seeking internships to gain experience and understanding in our industry.
- Unpaid Internships are for college students that require an internship for class credit. During the internship period, they may be offered paid part-time employment to work events/motorsport/concerts (evenings/weekends). They will not be paid for any other hours during the internship program. If the intern wishes to continue employment, they can review and apply to any open position that COTA has posted.
- Assist your assigned team department with the planning and execution of various events at COTA
- Attend and contribute to weekly department meetings
- Assist with ordering, logging, and maintaining all incoming inventory for various departments
- During major races, you will be placed in various roles and be responsible for assisting guests and providing them with a world-class experience
- Assist with set-up for all events on property
- Participate at various events such as Bike Night, our weekly Tuesday night event that allows guests to cycle the track and Cars and Coffee, held Sunday mornings throughout the year
- Learn about events and the various tasks associated with departments at COTA
- Learn about event production during MotoGP, NASCAR, & F1 by supporting the coordination of these events within the department you are assigned to and ensure that all deliverables are fulfilled before, during, and after events
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the department assigned
- Provide on-site support during events like MotoGP, NASCAR, & F1 which includes setup, coordination, and post-event activities
- Collaborate with various internal departments, including marketing, events, communications, and sponsorship to ensure seamless execution of initiatives within the department you're assigned to
- Assist in executing deliverables from various events - MotoGP, NASCAR, & F1
- Complete organizational tasks as assigned
- Minimum 2-3 days a week in office (20-25hrs/ week.) with a flexible schedule and ability to work weekends/evenings
- Attention to detail and strong time management skills are a must
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Positively represent COTA with guests and clients

- Super Lap Battle 4/11-4/13
- SRO 4/25-4/26
- Other scheduled COTA Events as needed
- Ability to stand, sit, use of hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to squat, bend, twist, push/pull.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
- Work in extreme environments outdoors throughout the year.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud during events.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
