Job Title: Safety Team Member
Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR, and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater.
Job Description:
The Safety Team member is responsible for ensuring the safety of race operations at COTA and the facility. This includes emergency medical services (EMS), fire suppression, track inspections, vehicle recovery, track clean up, and working with other members of the COTA staff to maintain a safe racing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to on-track incidents
- Provide care for drivers
- Implement fire suppression procedures
- Perform driver extrication
- Assist in vehicle recovery and coordinate with wreckers and rollbacks
- Help with fluid clean up and debris removal from the track
- Contribute to track maintenance by repairing walls and fencing
- Work as a pit lane firefighter as needed
- Support ground EMS for MotoGP events
- Conduct morning inspection checks of vehicles
- Collaborate with other team members
- Monitor track and facility safety and security protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications:
- EMT Basic or higher certification is recommended
- Firefighter I or equivalent certification is recommended
- English fluency
- Ability to work long hours and adapt to a dynamic schedule
- Availability to work a minimum of 3 days per month
- Flexibility to work weekends and weekdays
- Ability to work the entire weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) of at least 2 major events during a calendar year
- Willingness to wear proper personal protective equipment
- Valid driver's license

- Lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Enduring seasonal temperatures while working outdoors
- Running short distances and navigating through track gravel traps
- Overcoming 3-foot walls
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to high-speed traffic, moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, and extreme temperatures
- High noise levels in the work environment
- Potential exposure to injured personnel
