Sunair Electronics is seeking an experienced HF/ VHF RF Design Engineer. This individual will be responsible for the development, and qualification of HF/ RF products to specification. He/she will support the design, manufacture and test of existing products, analyzes designs to characterize performance and provide data, revises designs to achieve product performance and product goals, evaluates and chooses new devices to be used in existing products.

As a HF/VHF RF Design Engineer you can expect to:
Work with engineering and production to support the pre-sale activity, proposal generation, design and validation of the product.
Provide input to Director of Engineering and/or product managers to assist with overall customer goals, requirements and ad-hoc technical needs.
Evaluate test equipment and processing equipment used in production, diagnosing problems, directing repairs, tuning/ testing products, and documenting design and test procedures.
Required Experience:
10 years industry and /or military experience outside of school. (Required)
10 years of Design Engineer experience with HF/VHF/ UHF products.
Must be proficient in:
RF/HF and Microwave design concepts, theories, and practices for large signal amplifiers, small signal amplifiers, filters, couplers and control circuits.
Test methods and the use of test equipment.
The use of design and analysis/ synthesis tools (Altium Designer, PSPICE, AWR, HFSS, etc.) Must have a deep understanding of the design process from requirements to product validation (Required.)
Experience generating system designs/documentation and subsequent detailed designs.
Must have experience with communications equipment. (Required)
Must have experience with design to meet certification of various agencies as well as applicable military standards.
Knowledge of lumped element filter design and be proficient in RF test methods and use of test equipment.
Knowledge of analog transistor level design, low noise op-amp, and control circuit design and theory, PLL, DDS and microcontroller design skills, and knowledge of RF/ IF blocks used in transmitter and receivers cascade design and analysis, etc.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
Proficiency with MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access).
Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal skills in a team environment.
GROL (FCC General Radio Operator License) and/or amateur radio license. (Desirable)
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field (BSEE preferred.)
