What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Logistics Associate position at Circulogene?
Per CLIA/CAP requirements, the role of the lab logistics associate is to assist laboratory staff and testing personnel with non-testing tasks and provide oversight of processes within the laboratory’s inventory management system.
The Lab Logistics Associate will assist in monitoring the performance specifications of current workflows and systems to meet the organization's current and future needs.
Assists Molecular Technologists with non-testing tasks. This can include but is not limited to contacting and scheduling services with building management, building environmental services, lab coat services, biomedical waste services, and chemical waste services.
- Oversees Inventory Management
- Receiving and storing supplies
- Contact vendor to track orders when necessary
- Restocks lab workstations
- Completes inventory counts
- Keeps stock room neat and organized
- Point of contact for reporting inventory delays between vendors and the laboratory.
- Assists laboratory leadership in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures
- related to inventory management.
- Contributes to ongoing process improvement efforts.
- Provide concise and informative documentation of all work performed, consistent with
- the appropriate documentation systems.

Lab Logistics Associate Will work closely with the General Supervisor, Molecular Supervisor(s), Senior/Lead and the Laboratory Logistics Associate and other Laboratory Logistics Associates on work:
- Prioritize and mitigate stockout risks by ensuring adequate lead time for ordering supplies.
- Will work with laboratory leadership to ensure optimal ordering triggers are in place and orders are placed promptly.
- Will support training of new team members in fundamental tasks.
- The team member is expected to develop self-sufficiency and proficiency in these areas to be considered for a Lab Logistics-II position, meaning the associate no longer requires outside assistance to provide oversight of the inventory management system

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working experience with inventory management systems
- Experience ordering supplies and working with vendors
- Experience working with high-functioning teams in a Clinical (CLIA) Laboratory production
