SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for managing laboratories engaged with Circumference under the service program named "Circumference one-eighty(180)". Job responsibilities for this position will be for laboratory processes and procedures and remain in compliance per regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
LABORATORY:
- Contributes to the daily need for analyzing and checking lab results
- Can perform and instruct basic troubleshooting (ex. QC issues, calibration ranges, navigate instrument unique software)
- Assists Production Associate as needed in solution prep for method validation and other lab solutions
COMPLIANCE:
- Leads COLA/CLIA laboratory surveys for customers assigned in the Circumference one-eighty(180) service laboratories including: organizing documentation, interacting with the surveyor and serving as a representative of the laboratory by being onsite during any/all surveys
- Complete COLA/CLIA surveys with a goal of minimal citations depending on involvement level from laboratory staff on-site
- Follows the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results and proficiency testing
- Ability to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. Ability to correct the problems or immediately notify the technical consultant, clinical consultant, or director
- Reviews and approves monthly Quality Assessments for each laboratory that is overseen, then sends documents to either technical consultant or director for final approval
- Manage bloodborne pathogen testing for lab techs for labs assigned and required yearly continuing education for all lab personnel
- Travel to customer sites as needed for pre-audit and audit representation
- Travel to onboard new laboratory setups and implement any SOPs or policies to ensure laboratory is compliant, as needed
- Performs personnel evaluations for any assigned Circumference one-eighty(180) laboratories and ensures that routine tasks are completed in a timely manner (ex. annual lab manual reviews, lab has calibrated pipettes, centrifuge speed is verified, etc)
MANAGEMENT:
- Manage and maintain up to six (6) Circumference one-eighty(180) laboratories
- Managing assigned laboratories and all issues that may need troubleshooting with associated projects
- Conduct secondary screening and vetting of lab tech interviews for positions being filled at customer sites for the role of lab operator.
- Manage laboratory technicians at assigned laboratories daily to answer questions, help manage compliance, setup workflows
- Lead implementations and onboarding process for assigned customers including coordinating with customer/equipment vendor for validation process, and conduct compliance/laboratory training onsite with the laboratory operator at the customer's facility
- Travel to onboard new customers and perform compliance/laboratory training and laboratory setup, as needed
- Ensure that each assigned laboratory reports are released in accordance with standard turn-around time
- Ensures that each assigned laboratory has enough laboratory supplies to be able to run samples on a daily basis
- Ensures any assigned new laboratories onboarded are able to process samples in accordance with internal company goal set as a specific number of days from approval of validation by Laboratory Director.
- Contribute to high-priority internal documents to ensure coherency and consistency in data documentation and record keeping
- Manage COLA Central account for all assigned laboratories.
SPECIAL PROJECTS: (examples of projects listed below, projects assigned as needed by management)
- Assists with the supply auto shipment as needed
- Assists supervisor as needed in Split Sample Testing Events
- Identify and provide continuing education to lab specialist team for all laboratory personnel as needed per COLA/CLIA requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with Major in a Laboratory Science: Biology or Chemistry preferred. If degree is in a Science other than Biology or Chemistry, must have the following credits completed in coursework:
- 48 hours of science courses or MLS/MLT:
- 12 semester hours of chemistry
- 12 semester hours of biology
- 24 hours of mixture Bio, Chem, MLS, or MLT
- 24 credit hours of Lab Science

Experience:
- (1) Year - Clinical Laboratory Experience in Toxicology with testing performed on LC-MS/MS (Required)
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are: approx. 40 hours/week
- Occasional evenings may be required as job duties demand.
- Additional hours may be required from time to time.

Travel:
- Can vary from 35-40% depending on workload
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic principles and practical applications of chemistry, biochemistry, toxicology, microbiology, molecular biology, and/or related laboratory specialties.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate written and verbal scientific and clinical information.
