We are currently assisting our client with a Project Manager search near Greensboro, NC. The successful candidate will play a key role in the launch of new products, as well as the improvement of existing ones within our catalogue. This position requires close collaboration with our design and production teams to ensure new product designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. Some daily tasks for this role would include overseeing prototyping, material and finished good testing, Bill of Material (BOM) costing, quality audits, and more. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, experience in product development, and a passion for bringing ideas to life.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee rigorous testing processes to ensure products meet safety standards, durability, and performance requirements.
· Identify and address potential design flaws through testing and feedback loops. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement solutions.
· Work with manufacturing partners to optimize production processes and ensure cost-effective production. This also relates to new processing techniques being introduced by new products (labor standard calculations, new workstations, required jigs, and more).
· Working with our VP of Product and sourcing agents to identify innovative areas of opportunity (whether it be from a material standpoint or new construction techniques) that can keep our product assortment fresh and exciting for our customers.
· Ability to create 3D CAD models and technical drawings of product components.
· Working with the senior designer to explore and implement cost reductions through material yield efficiencies, construction changes, or re-sourcing of components to hit target costs.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree required, Engineering field
· 5 years of experience in product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a similar role, preferably in the furniture or consumer goods industry.
· Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or equivalent) for 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
· Familiarity of consumer needs and market dynamics in the RTA furniture industry
