What is this role?
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales strategy across various channels, including grocery, dollar stores, specialty retailers, e-commerce, convenience stores, and drug stores. This role will focus on identifying new retail partners and expanding relationships with our current partners, driving growth and market penetration.
What does an average day look like?
- Driving Results:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share across designated retail channels.
- Grow and maximize existing accounts, as well as, prioritize and win new accounts.
- Ability to operate in an exciting, fast paced entrepreneurial environment and comfortable leading through ambiguity.
- Taking Ownership:
- Lead the sales team in identifying opportunities, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring accountability for results.
- Manage channel strategy and brand presentation. Working with Category Management to determine assortment and product life cycles.
- Making Decisions: Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to make informed decisions that optimize our sales strategy and resource allocation.
- Cultivating Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment on goals.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure shipments get out on time and in full.
- Instilling Trust: Establish a reputation for integrity and reliability with both internal teams and external partners, fostering a culture of transparency and trust.
- Customer Focus: Prioritize customer needs and feedback to refine our offerings and improve the overall partner experience.
What background should you have?
- Ability to develop and deliver winning consumer based sales narratives.
- Proven track record of successful sales leadership in the consumer goods industry, ideally within grocery, e-commerce, and specialty retail.
- Strong understanding of retail sales processes, pricing strategies, and promotional tactics.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in building and managing high-performing sales teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data for strategic decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
