What is this role?
As a Packaging Engineer at Cirkul, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and optimizing packaging solutions that align with our cost reduction and sustainability goals enhancing the consumer experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our innovative beverage delivery system maintains its high standards of quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
What Does an Average Day Look Like?
- Driving Results: Lead packaging development projects from concept to commercialization, with goals of improved efficiency and cost reduction. will drive completion of product changes and new designs through creation of specifications, documentation, and management of changes through the engineering change order (ECO) process.
- Taking Ownership: Define packaging cost reduction opportunities and execute implementation when they make sense. Manage the entire packaging lifecycle for both flexible and tertiary packaging. Help navigate sustainable solutions for the Cirkul product line.
- Making Decisions: Evaluate and select packaging materials and technologies that align with our sustainability objectives and provide the best value for the company.
- Cultivating Relationships: Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to drive successful packaging innovations and improvements. Work with suppliers in the US and other parts of the world to ensure packaging specs are properly documented and functional in all regions of need.
- Instilling Trust: Maintain high standards of integrity and transparency in all packaging processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- Customer Focus: Prioritize the end-user experience by ensuring packaging is functional, appealing, and aligned with Cirkul’s brand promise of delivering a superior beverage experience.
What Background Should You Have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in packaging engineering, preferably within the beverage or consumer goods industry.
- Capable of documenting design work in a clear and concise technical report format.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data using statistics, and DOE design.
- Understanding of test methods to verify shelf life performance
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials(flexibles preferred), processes, and sustainability practices.
- CAD software and other packaging design tools are desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
