Youth Summer Camp Counselor – Cirque Kids Summer Camp
Are you ready to spend your summer in the air—literally? Join us at Cirque Kids Summe Camp, a high-flying, joy-filled aeriel summer camp where kids explore creativity, strength, and confidence through circus-inspired movement. We’re looking for dynamic, responsible, and enthusiastic Youth Camp Counselors who are passionate about working with kids and thrive in an active, creative environment.
Successful candidates will enjoy working hands-on with youth, be motivated, energetic, and organized individuals capable of leading circus camp activities with safety as a number one priority.
Cirque de Vol is a circus and creative movement arts school with a dedicated array of kids and adult programming. Youth programming has a focus on various circus and aerial arts, mindfulness, yoga, theatre, performing arts, and other creative explorations for youth. Programming implements aspects of mindfulness and conscious child development with aerial and circus arts.
Location: Cirque de Vol in Downtown Raleigh
Position Type: Part-time/Full-Time
Hours: June - August / Summer 2025
Monday–Friday
Early Care: 8:00 am-9:00 am
Camp: 9:00 am-4:00 pm
After Care: 4:00 pm-5:00 pm
Requirements:
- Candidates must be 18 and have previous experience working with children (preferably in a camp or school setting).
- Must be comfortable working with kids of various ages. (Our programs run age groups 5-7, 8 , Tween, and Teen)
- Must be able to provide kind and competent customer service on the phone, via email and face to face with parents.
- Must be punctual, self-motivated, responsible, able to work a flexible schedule, and have reliable transportation.
- Must be computer savvy and comfortable with learning student registration software programs for basic tasks such as sign-ins and student information look-up and organization. (Training provided)
- Candidates will be energetic, mature, kind, responsible, punctual, mindful, safety oriented and will bring positive energy into the studio.
Camp Counselor Duties:
- Checking kids in and out for camp
- Team Player: Coordinating and leading activities with other staff team members.
- Supervising kids throughout the camp day activities.
- Must be comfortable leading activities on your own, or as an assistant.
- Leading Youth Program Activities according to the studio's policies and safety guidelines
- Maintaining a safe and enriching environment for kids
- Prior experience with circus, aerial arts or gymnastics.
- Daily Cleaning Duties and Equipment upkeep and organization.
Youth Activities Include: Partner Acro, Gymnastics, Mindfulness, Stage make-up, Aerial Arts, Miming, Theatre Games & Costumes, Acting, Creative Storytelling, Stilt-walking, Hoop dance, Juggling, Aerial arts, handbalancing, rolling globe, etc.
Previous experience in more than one of the above categories is preferred, but not necessarily required.
Required: CPR/AED and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
