Job Summary

The Senior CAD Designer will be responsible for collaborating with engineering teams to create and modify complex component designs, develop detailed drawings, and manage engineering data. This role requires expertise in CAD design, specifically in Creo Parametric, and proficiency with Windchill PDMLink for data management. The Senior Designer will play a key role in ensuring product designs meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and comply with engineering requirements.

 

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Design & Documentation: Work directly with the Engineering team to create, modify, and finalize designs for complex components and assemblies. Incorporate engineering change orders (ECOs) and develop detailed drawing packages that align with project requirements.
  • CAD Modeling: Utilize Creo Parametric to create and revise solid models of components and assemblies. Ensure models are accurate, manufacturable, and meet functional specifications.
  • Drawing Management: Develop and release detailed 2D drawings from solid models, ensuring that all drawings are in compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Data Management: Manage, promote, and release engineering data and design files using Windchill PDMLink to ensure proper revision control, document management, and accessibility of critical design information.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance, to ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Review designs and drawings for adherence to company standards, industry best practices, and quality control processes. Address any issues promptly to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest design improvements, process optimizations, and innovations to enhance product quality, manufacturability, and overall project efficiency.

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design or product development, preferably within an engineering-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Creo Parametric for creating solid models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Extensive experience with Windchill PDMLink or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools for data management and revision control.
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM), tolerancing (GD&T), and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot design challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Salary Range: From $63,680.00 USD to $95,520.00 USD
