Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Janitorial Associate to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all staff and visitors. This role is responsible for the cleanliness and general maintenance of our facility, including indoor and outdoor areas. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including:
- Restrooms, breakroom, office spaces, hallways
- Change rooms, janitors closet, supply storage room
- Windows and doors (internal & external)
- Parking lot and smoking areas
- Perform regular floor care: sweeping, mopping, stripping, and waxing
- Remove oil buildup and wipe down equipment as needed
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners
- Change tacky mats and dust all surfaces regularly
- Maintain janitorial supplies inventory and submit orders to supervisor
- Document all tasks as required by Quality Systems
- Report safety issues or hazards immediately
- Assist in outdoor maintenance, including pressure washing and trash pickup
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Must-Have Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
(or 3-5 years of relevant janitorial experience in lieu of education) - Ability to read and understand basic instructions and memos
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
- Capable of performing physical duties:
- Frequently lifting/moving up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs)
- Standing, walking, reaching, and manual dexterity
- Tolerance for exposure to machine oils, silicone, and latex
- Willingness to work in high heat/humidity environments as needed
- Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness
Good-to-Have Qualifications:
- Previous janitorial or facility maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with using pressure washers and floor waxing equipment
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) a plus
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures
