Position Summary:
The Senior Cost Accountant works closely with the Operations Controller as the subject matter expert on all cost accounting activities for the site. The Senior Cost Accountant will collect, analyze and track site activity and performance to ensure an accurate representation of product manufacturing costs and expenses on the companys financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine production costs and Enterprise Resource Planning(EPR) system set up to establish manufacturing standards.
- Collect and monitor manufacturing performance to standard, research significant discrepancies and collaborate with manufacturing personnel to resolve issues.
- Collect and monitor actual expenses to forecast and budget, investigate significant discrepancies and inform site leaders of month-to-date performance issues.
- Assist with month end close; prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations and assemble financial reporting as needed.
- Leverage ERP and database reporting tools for data collection, monitoring, analysis and reporting.
- Assist other employees and leaders with manufacturing analysis as requested.
- Present findings in a group or individual setting to advise of concerns or provide recommendation to processes
Must Have:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
- 2-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Job shop experience preferred.
- Previous cost accounting skills required
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- High level skills with ERP systems, with experience in data queries and extraction.
- Proficient use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Competitive market salary from $76000 to 97000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
