What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optoelectronic DVT Engineer position at Cisco Systems, Inc.?
Acacia Communications Inc., a leader in disruptive optical and coherent technology, is currently seeking a Device Verification Test (DVT) Engineer to design and run automated testing of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs), assist development teams with design specifications, and improve production yields.
Your ImpactReporting into Acacia/Cisco Device Verification Test group, this engineer will work closely with our integrated silicon photonics, optical packaging, ASIC development, and the operations teams to deliver leading edge, high-yielding, high-throughput processes across Acacia/Cisco product line of optoelectronic components and modules.
- New product introduction - work closely with RF, silicon photonics, DSP, and module design teams to debug and bring-up new PICs and modules
- Develop test algorithms and calibration procedures
- Define and execute design verification test plans
- Be responsible for design verification documentation
- Support PIC level failure analysis and troubleshooting
- PhD or MS in engineering or similar field with 5-10 years of relevant experience
(Exceptional PhD graduates can be considered for junior level position)
- Solid lab skills
- Knowledge of optical communications, including PAM4 and coherent optical communications
- Experience with basic fiber optics components and test and measurement equipment
- Experience with high bandwidth RF, EO/OE testing
- Experience with client optics DSP, SerDes, and its testing
- Knowledge of software and test automation, especially based on Python
- Knowledge of DAC/ADC operations and controls
- Demonstrated problem solving, effective communication, documentation, planning skills
- Experience with JMP or similar data analysis software
- C , Matlab programming and VPI modelling experience
- International and domestic travel to support customer development and internal Cisco collaboration might be required
