You will join Cisco Legal’s Regulatory Affairs Trade Legal & Compliance (TLC) team. The Regulatory Affairs team is comprised of lawyers, operational specialists, program managers, engineers, and subject matter experts focused on topics including data and privacy, global trade and telecom, ESG, and cyber and national security regulations. You will partner with your colleagues in Legal and numerous other functions across the company to have an immediate impact with your analytic rigor, business judgment, and ability to get things done.
Your Impact
You will be providing paralegal support for the TLC team. We are looking for a fun, creative teammate, hungry to dive into a wide variety of hands on work to help support our trade compliance program. You will have a key role helping Cisco to maintain a robust trade compliance program in a dynamic regulatory and geopolitical environment. You will manage trade compliance regulatory filings on a global scale, lead and shape key regulatory projects, design and administer processes for data retention and manage third party vendor services. In addition, you’ll partner with colleagues across Cisco’s Trade Legal and Compliance (TLC) team to support Cisco’s business operations and our global trade compliance program making you a key influencer and partner.

In addition, you’ll partner with colleagues across Cisco’s Trade Legal and Compliance (TLC) team to support Cisco’s business operations and our global trade compliance program making you a key influencer and partner.
- Review and prepare legal documents, including, but not limited to, license applications, reports, memoranda, certifications and correspondence with regulatory authorities.
- Drive preparation and submission of responses to legal requests to and from regulators and other third parties.
- Draft, review, maintain and organize corporate trade compliance records
- Conduct research on a variety of trade compliance topics, including export, sanctions and antiboycott, etc.
- Provide project management and cross-functional coordination of special projects
- Work with cross functional teams to build and enhance internal processes
- Assist in developing trade compliance training programs and materials
- Participate in the creation and delivery of trade compliance newsletters and regulatory updates for internal teams
- Develop and maintain of internal knowledge databases and for the team
- Manage contracts and billing for third party trade compliance vendors
- Prioritize ongoing learning and understanding of export controls, trade sanctions and trade compliance.
- BA/BS degree in paralegal studies, law or related field and certification as paralegal (CP) or Certified Legal Assistant (CLA)
- 5 years’ experience as paralegal or commercial contract reviewer in law firm, government or in-house legal department
- Experience supporting litigation, IP and/or compliance matters; experience handling trade compliance matters preferred
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
- Ability to review and organize numerous and complex legal and operational compliance documents
- Solves sophisticated problems and uses analytical skills and judgment to recommend appropriate solutions.

Salary : $110,400 - $139,500
