Your Impact
As a Performance Engineer working on Cisco Firepower our newest network security appliance you will work with the following:
- Support test and test development activities for Cisco Secure Firewall products
- Design and execute firewall throughput performance test plans and procedures to validate new and existing hardware and software functionality
- Record, analyze, diagnose, report and lead test scenarios, incidents, problems and retests dependent on agreed criteria.
- Collaborate with product development to solve and implement additional test methodologies.
- Assist junior team members in troubleshooting and/or interpreting test results
- BS or higher in computer related field with minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- 3 years of professional work experience with networking such as routing/switching, IP, TCP/UDP, and application layers such as HTTP, SMTP, etc.
- Experience of the Linux/Unix command line
- Experience with Bash and Python scripting languages
- Work experience with Firewall, NAT, and IPS technologies
- Experience with network traffic tools such as Spirent, Ixia/Breakingpoint, TeraVM, etc
- Familiar with cloud/virtual environments such as Azure, AWS / EKS, GCP, OCI, Alibaba, Kubernetes, EXSi, OpenStack, or KVM
- Cisco Certification such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE (Routing / Security)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and technical skills
- Ability to execute parallel tasks simultaneously
