Purpose:

The Interior Completions Planner supports the company's mission to deliver world-class aircraft completions, interior modifications, and MRO services. By ensuring optimal planning, resource alignment, and project execution, this role is integral to achieving customer satisfaction and operational excellence. The Planner will play a pivotal role in planning customer requirements, constructing bid estimates, and developing detailed project workflows and production schedules for aircraft completions, modifications, and MRO projects. This position requires close coordination with Directors of Maintenance, Completions, and Engineering, as well as Project Managers, to assess feasibility based on workforce and facility capacity. The Senior Planner collaborates with the Maintenance Planning Manager and Materials Planning Manager to ensure seamless project execution.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to plan and schedule maintenance and modification/completion work packages based on customer requirements and market timelines.
  • Develop accurate and executable project bids, including labor and material estimates.
  • Create detailed task-level workflows, identifying critical project paths and preparing day-by-day schedules.
  • Navigate AMMs, drawing packages, AD/SB/SL, IPCs, and MPDs; familiarity with Boeing and Airbus technical data portals is highly desirable.
  • Research MPDs, customer RFP/Q packages, and OEM/FAA requirements to include relevant tasks in the work scope.
  • Plan and coordinate material needs with Engineering, Purchasing, and Logistics to ensure availability within project timelines.
  • Investigate and cultivate new supplier sources, ensuring materials meet cost, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Communicate and resolve material issues with internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct pre-dock, post-dock, and planning meetings to ensure alignment on project scopes and timelines.
  • Maintain and update the company’s ERP system with data for current and future bid packages.
  • Assist senior management with ad hoc tasks and strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve Planning Department processes and support overall company growth.
  • Monitor and report vendor performance issues to the Director of Planning and Sales Support.

 

Minimum Qualifications or Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, Interior completions modifications, repair, and/or overhaul, including planning, scheduling, documentation, or project management.

  • Proficiency in researching and interpreting ADs, SBs, maintenance manuals, and task card requirements, with a strong ability to estimate labor hours accurately.

  • Familiarity with FAR Part 145 repair station regulations, Part 121/135 airline policies, and/or OEM procedures.                

Preferred Qualifications or Experience:

  • Planning experience related to VVIP aircraft completions.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Valid mechanic certificate with A&P ratings; experience with large-body Boeing and Airbus aircraft.

  • Capable of leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders to drive project alignment and success.

  • Excels in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, maintaining composure and flexibility when faced with shifting priorities or unexpected obstacles.

  • Effectively communicates with internal teams, external vendors, and customers to ensure clarity and alignment on project objectives.

  • Proactively identifies issues and implements creative, practical solutions to ensure project timelines and goals are met.

  • Dedicated to understanding and exceeding customer expectations, ensuring satisfaction with every project.

  • Strong ability to interpret data, assess risks, and make informed decisions to optimize project execution and resource utilization.

 

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel is to be expected for business industry work, events and occasional business networking and negotiation meetings.

This position is considered INDOOR WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
