Job Overview
The Mortgage Closer understands the mortgage process and completes the loan closing and disbursement on both residential mortgage loans and Home Equity loans.

Responsibilities
- Handle all loans workflow from clear-to-close until loan is submitted to loan servicing.
- Quality Control Reviews of all loan types prior to Scheduling and Closing Package preparation.
- Work with Closing Coordinator/ Closing Assistant Manager to schedule loan settlements with customers, title company, Insurance Agents, realtors, etc.
- Review loan approval to ensure all conditions have been met and are collected.
- Create & Validate CD’s/ changed circumstances for RESPA compliance.
- Review & update Rate locks prior to closing.
- Prepare wire requests.
- Review Title reports.
- Create and review Closing Disclosures and Closing Instructions.
- Deliver required forms to members as needed to meet federal timing requirements.
- Prepare and deliver closing document packages
- Be a licensed Notary Public in PA, or employees state of residence (if fully remote), with RON certification.
- Conduct RON (Remote Electronic Mortgage) closings for non-title insured loans, using company provided hardware & software.
- Review and provide Funding Authorizations as required
- Reviews calculated taxes, insurance, and MI for accuracy.
- Collect and post fees and accounts when necessary.
- Review closed loan packages for pre-funding authorization
- Prepare Post-closing packages for long term paper and digital storage.
- Direct contact with mortgage processor and borrowers to obtain application information needed for the closing of First and Home Equity loans.
- Handle member calls and inquiries daily.
- Interact with originators, borrowers, mortgage team and vendors daily
- Must keep informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage.
- Other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Understanding of Mortgage lending and the origination process. Knowledge of Fannie Mae, PMI, and Credit Union lending guidelines. Knowledgeable in all TRID disclosure requirements.
- Prefer minimum of 2 years Mortgage Closing experience
- Holds or able to become a Notary Public
- If remote, has available workspace suitable for online, audio/video recorded loan closings.
- High School Disclosure or equivalent
- Experience with Loan Systems, preferably Encompass
- Microsoft Office, Encompass, or other mortgage front end system
- NMLS Registration will be required
