Job Overview:

Responsible for developing new business, expanding existing business relationships, and the servicing of Citadel’s Commercial Payments clients, including handling high touch client accounts. Responsible for working with the larger, more sophisticated business clients with the most complex payments needs. Implement and monitor the onboarding, execution, and servicing for all Business Credit Card, Merchant Services, and Cash Management products and services that members are enrolled in. Creates, manages, and oversees all compliance, regulatory, and audit requirements for Business Credit Card, Merchant Services, and Cash Management. Leads the vetting, selection, and implementation of Commercial Payments vendor relationships. Oversight of the Commercial Payments vendor partnerships including regular meetings, reporting, service breaks, contract updates, and sales rep reporting.  Represents the department on division and cross-functional committees. Works closely with Business Banking Relationship Managers, Commercial Relationship Managers, and Retail Bank partners as well as clients at the Executive Level. Considered a subject matter expert on respective product line benefits and services with various industries and lines of business. Relied upon by management to set the example for and serve as a mentor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with existing business clients to expand relationships and to ensure proper servicing of clients. Capable of managing complex business relationships within overall business banking portfolio. Responsible for all phases of sales process from referral through implementation for Business Credit Card, Merchant Services, and Cash Management.
  • Call on prospective business clients to develop new Commercial Payments sales opportunities through a consultative sales approach.
  • Analyze members current payment’s structure and pricing and develop customized solutions to meet the member’s needs. Prepare and present sales presentations and proposals (for both internal and external audiences), illustrating customized solutions, industry trends, as well as features and benefits of the recommended product offerings.
  • Act as a partner with Relationship Managers to market Commercial payments services to members and prospects.
  • Creates, manages, and oversees all compliance, regulatory, and audit requirements for the Commercial Payments Business. Specifically, but not limited to  Business Credit Card, Merchant Services, and Cash Management.
  • Provide consultative training to retail partners and vendors to ensure an understanding of the Bank’s product offerings and communicate product changes and enhancements.
  • Analyze members and prospect pricing structure and make recommendations to Relationship Managers and leadership.
  • Complement Chief Commercial Banking Officers sales management process in executing sales strategies and in meeting or exceeding departmental goals with a focus on relationship growth.
  • Participate in the development of strategic business plans and sales campaigns for target members and prospects.
  • Provide training and mentoring to directors, market managers, and financial representatives with less experience.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position reports to the Chief Commercial Banking Officer and is responsible for participating in the development, expansion, and maintenance of Citadels Commercial Payments business. This position assists with strategic planning. Works closely with Relationship and line of business managers, as well as members at the Executive level. Considered a subject matter expert of Business Credit Card, Merchant Services, and Cash Management product benefits and services and is a line of business expert for business units supported.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business/related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years risk and operational exposure/experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years business banking exposure and payments/ACH exposure
  • Minimum of 10 years Merchant Services experience

• Excellent customer service skills. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

• Demonstrated experience with and broad understanding of personal and commercial financial statements. 

• Proficient in personal computer applications - PC (MS Windows and Office Products), Client Experience Desktop.

Performance is based on the Citadel corporate scorecard as well as departmental and individual goals.

 

Work Environment

This position will be in an office environment with most work done on a computer. Some events may take place outdoors. Reasonable accommodations will be provided.

Travel to local and, on occasion out-of-town, meetings and events is required.
