Get paid to attend local concerts, festivals, and other events around the Front Range as a Special Event Security Officer! In this role, you’ll help ensure the safety and security of the venue, guests, and staff by enforcing event policies, conducting crowd control, and responding to incidents as needed. The schedule is highly flexible, allowing you to choose shifts that best fit your availability. Whether you’re looking for a one-time gig or a chance to work multiple events, you’ll have the opportunity to combine work with your passion for live entertainment. \n- Security Presence & Defense: Ensure the safety and security of event guests, staff, and assets.
- Alcohol Enforcement: Monitor and maintain liquor boundaries at events, ensuring compliance with Colorado liquor laws.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to security concerns, medical emergencies, or incidents reported by event guests or staff.
- Event Safety: Be aware of environmental risks (i.e., extreme temperatures or other hazards) and proactively address them as they arise, directing attendees to safe locations in event of evacuation.
- Crowd Management: Conduct perimeter patrols, manage crowd flow, and assist in evacuations or crowd control as needed.
- Bag Checks & Security Screening: Perform security checks on attendees, including bag searches, wand detection, and ensuring prohibited items are not brought into the venue.
- Lost Items & Patrons: Assist in locating lost items, individuals, or children.
- Customer Service: Provide clear, courteous guidance to event attendees, including directions to amenities like bathrooms, medical stations, and other key locations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow security staff, event managers, and law enforcement to ensure a smooth, safe event experience.
- Incident Documentation: Record and report all security and safety incidents and concerns to supervisors as they occur.
- Employment Eligibility: Provide 2 forms of ID and eligibility/authorization to work in the US
- Age: 18
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Attitude: Energetic, punctual, and positive, maintaining focus and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking); Spanish is a plus.
- Screening: Ability to pass a background check and, if applicable, a drug test (site-dependent).
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from events (Out of town events have transport from the office and back)
- Tech Literacy: Basic technology skills and ownership of a working smartphone and accessible email account
- Event Logistics: Ability to understand and comply with event-specific rules and regulations (e.g., ID checks, wristbands, bag checks).
- Physical Ability: Can stand, sit, walk, jog, crouch, bend over, and carry 50lbs in a variety of environments.
- Weather Tolerance: Flexibility to work outside in various weather conditions, including inclement weather and extreme temperatures (Coats & Parkas provided!)
- Responsible for protecting valuable assets for a business or vendor.
- Maintain liquor boundaries at special events that sell or distribute alcohol and upholding the Colorado liquor laws.
- Be mentally engaged in the event through observation and report all problems or potential hazards to the Special Event Security Supervisor.
- Conduct routine perimeter patrols (i.e., stage front, general perimeter security, and crowd safety) and confirm with security team through frequent radio communication.
- Understand the logistics of the special event, including its rules & regulations (i.e., checking IDs and wrist banding 21 , bag checks, and ensuring VIP patrons have VIP passes), presented in a security briefing before the event by the Special Event Security Supervisor.
- Provide exceptional customer service to the client and all guests attending the event. This includes providing general information for the event venue and giving directions to local points of interest (parking, bathrooms, medical stations, vendor locations, restaurants, etc.).
- Primarily works outside in various weather conditions, which could include extreme temperatures and inclement weather (i.e., hot, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.).
- Often involves long periods of standing in one place while maintaining mental focus and presenting positive body language.
- Comply with the Company's/Client's dress code for special events and arrive prior to the event start time ready to work.
- Properly handle all of the Company's equipment, including radios, computer equipment, flashlights, uniforms, etc.
- Perform additional tasks, related duties, projects, and special assignments as assigned by the reporting manager or client.
- Provide credible references and I-9 Employment Eligibility Documentation (legal eligibility to work in the U.S.).
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to perform job tasks in an extremely professional manner in a customer service driven industry.
- Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to stand and walk for several hours per shift.
