Responsibilities:
This is the company's 2nd level of geology expertise/specialization.
- Provides geological, petrophysical, and geophysical support functions and performs property studies, which, when executed, enhance oil and gas production of the company's reserve base in the most cost-effective manner possible.
- Originates and generates capital investment projects including the Companys current underdeveloped positions. Evaluate deeper and shallower potential underlying the Companys producing properties and recommend, drill, and develop those reservoirs that economically justify such investments.
- Evaluates outside-operated proposals and monitors offset exploration activity as it affects Company leaseholds. Collaborates in the preparation of A.F.E.s, annual capital budget and reserve report projects.
- Makes proper recommendations concerning the Companys leasehold position with regard to renewals and rentals, taking new leases, dropping acreage, farming out, and maintaining the HBP status of all economic or potentially economic-producing acreage.
- Supervises and/or monitors field data acquisition concerning geological, geophysical, and other related functions.
- Maintains an awareness of evolving industry standards and emerging technologies as they apply to maximizing the economic recovery of the Companys oil and gas properties.
- Experience with Petra and/or Kingdom Geology software is preferred.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of geology experience.
Education:
- A MS in geology.
Physical Requirements:
- Typically works indoors in an office setting, with some traveling required to COGCs region offices or other oil industry offices. Occasional travel to the field operation is required.
