Job Summary
Candidate will work part-time during the school year while attending classes and will work full-time during the summer months. Provide procurement support in accordance with company procedures and strategic goals while under the direct supervisor's guidance. Assists or performs the following duties; places purchase orders; selects and negotiates with approved vendors and evaluates vendor reliability; obtains materials from suppliers at the lowest cost, with consideration to quality, reliability and urgency of need; schedules deliveries and follows up on orders to expedite delivery and shipment; obtains certifications of delivery and approves payment invoices for orders placed. Maintain records and files as needed. Perform basic analytical tasks and industry research.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Must be at least a sophomore in college (completion of freshman year) with an overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Available to work forty hours per week in the summer and twenty hours per week during the school year.
- Basic working knowledge Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)
