Occupational Health Nurse
Responsible for performing quality occupational health care within the scope of professional nursing. Has knowledge of company standards, federally mandated exams, and regulatory agencies to as certain the fitness of an employee to perform job duties. Coordinates, and implements occupational health programs and health assets for CITGO employees.
Sr. Occupational Health Nurse
Administers quality, comprehensive occupational health services within the scope of professional nursing. Interprets and ensures compliance with laws, regulations and standards governing health and safety of employees. Knowledgeable of company standards and government mandates to ascertain the fitness of an employee to perform the job duties. Coordinates and manages occupational health programs and health assets for CITGO employees.
Minimum Qualifications
Occupational Health Nurse
Degree:
- College Degree (Bachelors Level) in Nursing.
The minimum number of years of job related experience required by this job is:
- 1 year previous experience as a RN in occupational health, ER, urgent care, outpatient facility or school nursing helpful.
List any specialized training or unique skills required:
- State Registered Nurse Licensure.
- CPR/AED Certification Preferred.
- Audiometric Certification Preferred.
- Spirometry Certification Preferred.
- Breath Alcohol Certification Preferred.
- Interest in or current knowledge of occupational health nursing practice, and CITGO policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work toward assigned goals without supervision.
Sr. Occupational Health Nurse
Degree:
- College Degree (Bachelors Level).
The minimum number of years of job related experience required by this job is:
- Requires 3 years as an Occupational Health Nurse in an industrial setting or the equivalent demonstrated proficiency in a similar role.
List any specialized training or unique skills required:
- TX State Professional Nurse License
- Occupational Health Nurse Certification (COHN-S). *
- CPR Certification. *
- Audiometric Certification. *
- Spirometry Certification. *
- Breath Alcohol Technician Certification. *
- Able to work toward assigned goals without supervision.
- Computer skills: e-mail, Word, Excel, HMS or comparable.
Note: * If candidate does not have certification at time of hire, they must receive certification within 1 year from date of hire.
Job Duties
Occupational Health Nurse
Assume system of authority for manger of Health Services and takes after hour call for occupational injury and/or incident, as deemed necessary.
Administrative duties (i.e., assist with reception duties; filing; opening/dispersing mail; preparing correspondence; communicating with employees, payroll, supervisors/managers, other internal/external customers/vendors; making follow-up phone calls; archiving of employee medical records, maintenance, and preparation of reports/logs; ordering and stocking of medical/office supplies; research information; and/or other duties, as assigned.
Assist with health promotion activities and employee education programs.
