What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Coach position at CiTi BOCES?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Coach to join our Exceptional Education programs, specifically designed for students with disabilities . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral analysis and a passion for working with children and adolescents with autism, mental health challenges, and/or intense behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the causes of challenging behaviors.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' behavioral and educational goals.
- Provide direct support and intervention to students in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
- Train and support staff in the implementation of behavior intervention strategies.
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
Job Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Psychology, School Social Worker, School Counselor or a related field.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with autism, mental health challenges and intense behavioral needs.
- Strong understanding of behavior analysis principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
