Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Index Rebalance Specialist to join our team at Citigroup. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of equity markets, index methodologies, and the mechanics of index rebalancing. This role involves collaborating with various internal teams and clients to ensure the accurate and efficient estimation of equity index rebalance flows.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor index rebalancing activities in accordance with established methodologies and schedules.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Research, CMand and other organizations across Markets and Securities Services and the broader business
  • Analyze index composition changes and their impact on portfolios and market dynamics.
  • Establish and maintain key relationships to deliver trades to the desk
  • Coordinate with desk analysts as needed and with sales to develop the franchise
  • Coordinate with trading desks to ensure timely and accurate execution of rebalance trades.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, corporate actions, and economic indicators that may impact index constituents.
  • Provide clients with detailed reports and insights on upcoming index rebalances and their potential effects.
  • Address client queries and provide support related to index methodologies and rebalancing processes.
  • Work closely with the research, trading, and sales teams to ensure cohesive and informed index management strategies. 
  • Leverage program language to automate and systemize index rebalance analysis
  • Prepare and present regular reports on index performance and rebalancing outcomes to senior management.
  • Leading strong governance and controls:
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you
  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in equity markets, index methodologies, and the mechanics of index rebalancing
  • Knowledge of respective products and clients
  • Required licensing and registrations as applicable
  • Advanced analytical and numerical competency
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze and pitch situations and determine suitable counterparties
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities
  • Knowledge of Python

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$150,000.00 - $175,000.00
