The Business Loans Risk and Control Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in Citigroup Inc, overseeing professional teams and departments to drive results through integrated subject matter and industry expertise. This strategic professional contributes to setting standards for others to operate within, requiring in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate and coordinate to achieve overall function objectives. The role demands basic commercial awareness, developed communication and diplomacy skills to guide, influence, and convince others, especially colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes and oversees the application of operational risk policies, technology, and tools, and governance processes to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
- Independently assesses risks and drives actions to address root causes leading to operational risk losses by challenging historical and proposed practices.
- Governance and oversight may include technology operational risk, and risk management.
- Serves as a subject matter expert for Issues Management (KPI/KRI/Corrective Action Plans).
- Resolves transactional level escalations from vendors or internal partners.
- Analyzes scorecards and performance management tools to mitigate exposure (risk/financial/regulatory).
- Monitors goals met through performance, risk, and relationship oversight of the extended supply chain.
- Collaborates to resolve issues within contract terms.
- Develops and maintains relationships across business users and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver customer requirements.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
- Assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Requirements:
- 6-10 years of experience.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Business writing experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, including Power Point.
- In-depth knowledge of Loan Operations processes and technology platforms supporting the Operations.
- Knowledge of Loan Products, Loan Operations processes, including LSTA, LMA, lending standards, regulations, and/or internal audit experience.
- Project management and governance experience with demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed critical milestones.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to foster working relationships with other leaders across multiple lines of business and with support organizations.
- Demonstrated judgement and critical thinking skills.
Education:
Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
