Role Overview
Citigroup Inc is a leading global financial institution seeking a seasoned Strategic Wholesale Credit Risk Expert to join its Institutional Credit Management (ICM) Underwriting organization.
The ICM Risk Analysis Unit delivers best-in-class credit risk analysis, monitoring, and credit administration as a partner to ICM Risk and Banking, ensuring the safety and soundness of wholesale lending across ICM.
About the Role
This Strategic Wholesale Credit Risk Expert will be responsible for assessing the credit and financial strength of Citi's Large Corporate, Public Sector, and Financial Institutions clients by performing fundamental credit analysis using both quantitative and qualitative factors.
You will complete Credit Analysis Write-up Memos and Final Obligor Risk Ratings based on independent assessments and judgments completed on due diligence of the client and industry knowledge.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing credit and financial strength of clients using fundamental credit analysis
- Completing Credit Analysis Write-up Memos and Final Obligor Risk Ratings
- Performing transaction memo approvals in a timely manner
This role reports directly to the Credit Risk Team Lead and requires strong analytical skills, including an understanding of key financial components and the ability to identify root causes and trends.
A successful candidate will have:
- Intermediate analytical skills with a strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP accounting
- Risk & Credit Underwriting experience with a focus on identifying potential risk issues
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate credit recommendations orally and in writing
