We are seeking a Project Manager for a global VDI implementation for a global banking client on a contract basis. Role description: The VDI Project Manager/Regional Contact is responsible for providing regional contact, support and governance in the VDI project to help successfully implement the new VDI infrastructure in the local Data Centers and rollout the new virtual desktop products to all VDI end-users in the region. Responsibilities include: - work closely together with VDI Build-Out and Operational Service Alignment workstreams to reach out to the regions and countries and to report back into the project
- support vendors and local infrastructure units with VDI related activities to plan, install and decommission local data centre hardware
- oversee regional and in-country data centre infrastructure outfitting and decommissioning
- plan the VDI end user rollout for all countries in the region based on local and business requirements
- prepare end-user communication with local contacts and the central project team, incl. translations as required
- support the preparation, planning, completion and evaluation of regional pilots and end-to-end tests
- work together with local and regional teams to get country-specific approvals incl. Intergroup Service Agreements and Vendor Compliance Management
- act as Single Point of Contact for all VDI related questions and topics in the region
- interact with and support Country Technology Managers, regional Management, stakeholders, vendors, infrastructure and support teams, VDI Service Operations / Product Managers and the VDI project
- collect feedback, solve issues and escalate to the VDI project
- proactively identify and address relevant issues and open items, track and report them
- share knowledge about new VDI infrastructure and new VDI products
- support local teams to establish country-specific processes and interfaces as required
- report and present to regional stakeholders
Requirements: Ideal background: - data centre and network infrastructure implementation experience
- Operating System rollout or End-User rollout experience
- Large scale changes in a global regulated and controlled IT production environment
Essential skills/experience: (cannot do the job without these, includes specific technology or software skills required e.g. Visio, DevOps, Agile, Cloud, Citrix Cloud, Azure Desktop, Azure AD, etc.) - experience in a controlled IT production environment in a global (financial) institution
- experience in global rollout projects with end-user impact
- proven ability to work in a challenging setting with multiple clients and outsourced vendors
- excellent communication skills to cater to internal DB clients, business units and stakeholders as well as data centre, network, technology and vendor contacts
- good understanding of data centre and network infrastructure
- good understanding of Virtual Desktop infrastructure
- ability to multitask and prioritize
- experience in co-ordinating remote teams
- ability to present and report to stakeholders and management on all levels
- co-operative and supportive attitude
- IT Service Management tools / ServiceNow
- Excel data analytics / pivot tables
