Responsibilities:
- Greets visitors, physicians, and patients in a friendly professional manner and directs them appropriately. Monitors and maintains proper daily practice flow to ensure an efficient patient experience. Informs patients of delay in physician schedules.
- Assists the patient with the completion of the medical intake, uploads a copy of their insurance information and government-issued ID card. Responsible for patient check-in.
- Updates patient information including demographics, insurance, HIPAA forms and financial forms. Accurately recording and collecting any payment and clearly explaining the financial obligations to the patient.
- Creates and assembles both the paper and electronic medical record chart to store and upload all documents of the patient, ensuring that information is inputted and scanned properly.
- Promptly answers and responds to telephone and office emails, screens telephone callers in a pleasant and professional manner; handles calls; takes messages or directs callers to the appropriate person or area.
- Schedules appointments and follow up visits as needed according to specialty guidelines. Confirms future appointments as needed.
- Maintain the waiting areas in a neat and tidy condition.
- Performs any clerical duty and task that is requested of his or her assistant/manager to improve provider productivity, patient care, and efficient office flow.
- May be responsible for chaperone duties during patient exams as needed.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends (as needed)
- Minimum education of High School Diploma
- Must have customer services experience
- Basic understanding of medical terminology (preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience working in medical setting (preferred but not mandatory)
