The Foundation Development Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the growth and sustainability of the Fieldstone Foundation’s programs. This includes fundraising and donor relations, grant research and application, project and event management, volunteer program administration as well as marketing and public relations activities to enhance the Foundation’s visibility and impact. This individual will work closely with the Senior Director to advance the strategic priorities, goals and vision of the Fieldstone Foundation and support the development of its fundraising and gift-giving endeavors. The successful candidate will be a thought partner with the Senior Director, who possesses exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and an ability to positively represent the Foundation through interactions with key stakeholders, corporate sponsors and volunteers. This position will require an enhanced attention to detail, creative problem-solving, ability to manage competing priorities, relationship-building, project management, event planning and presentation skills.
Essential Functions (Job Duties)

- Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Support the development and implementation of annual fundraising strategies to achieve organizational goals, while identifying innovative opportunities to enhance and diversify fundraising efforts.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors and key stakeholders through ongoing communication, including outreach, networking and timely delivery of tax documentation and appreciation letters.
- Research and identify grant opportunities, create annual grant calendars and timelines, and take lead in gathering relevant historical and financial data for grant proposals. Draft and submit compelling proposals to secure funding.
- Commitment to the Fieldstone Foundation’s mission, vision and values with ability to build authentic, positive relationships with community members.
- Event Planning & Project Management
- Assist in planning and coordinating major fundraising events, including the Fieldstone Music Festival, Meals with Meaning and the annual Adopt-A-Child campaign.
- Partner with the Senior Director in the planning, promotion and management of fundraising events.
- Manage logistics, including vendor selection, coordination and venue setup. Oversee event operations by supervising volunteers, ensuring smooth execution of the event schedule, promptly addressing any issues and delivering an exceptional attendee experience.
- Develop and manage annual timelines and milestones required to successfully execute annual events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Monitor progress and performance, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Volunteer Program Administration
- Recruit, cultivate, and manage a strong volunteer base to support the Foundation’s programs and events, inspiring enthusiasm and a shared sense of purpose around the Foundation's mission and vision.
- Develop volunteer engagement strategies, ensuring meaningful volunteer experiences and long-term involvement.
- Train and supervise volunteers, providing ongoing support and recognition to build a positive and motivated culture of volunteering with our workforce and community.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, obtain necessary photo releases, and capture photos and videos of volunteer involvement for marketing and promotional purposes.
- Coordinate volunteer efforts for events, conducting ongoing outreach activities to ensure adequate staffing and support.
- Communications & Marketing
- Create compelling and inspiring media content to enhance and evolve the Fieldstone Foundation’s website, including writing newsletters, blog posts and press releases.
- Manage social media marketing efforts in collaboration with the Senior Director and the Marketing and Communications department.
- Create and update marketing materials for fundraising campaigns and events.
- Support the Senior Director in preparing internal and external reports and presentations on the activities and impact of the Foundation for Executive Leadership, Board of Directors, corporate sponsors, grant awardees, grants committee and volunteers.
- Represent the Foundation to key stakeholders by attending community networking events, engaging with and delivering presentations to community members.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Foundation, sharing its mission, programs and impact to build strong relationships, inspire engagement and foster community support.
- Data Management & Reporting
- Create processes, with supporting documents and tracking methods to implement new gift-giving programs and assess impact and outcomes achieved.
- Monitor and track fundraising efforts, project milestones and volunteer program progress, preparing regular comprehensive reports for the Senior Director.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement in fundraising, programs and volunteer efforts.

Qualifications
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a 40 hour per week, full-time position.
Workweek schedule: Schedule to be determined in collaboration with shared department. Hours will typically fall during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be needed to support events.
Hours of work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur.
Travel
Occasional travel is required.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, human services, education, or similar field preferred.
