Job Title: Contract/Part-Time Children’s Church Director
Location: Citizen Church - Stamford, CT
Position Type: Part-Time (Approximately [8-10] hours per week, including Sundays)
Reports To: Senior Pastor and/or Operations Director
Position Summary:
The Part-Time (contracted) Children’s Church Director will lead and oversee the spiritual growth and development of children (grades K-5]) in our church. This position involves coordinating engaging, age-appropriate programs and activities to teach biblical principles and create a welcoming, fun, and safe environment for children to grow in their faith.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Leadership and Planning
- Plan and implement weekly Children’s Church services, lessons, and activities in alignment with the church’s mission and values.
- Develop and organize curriculum, crafts, games, and other materials for Sunday mornings and occasional special events.
- Ensure content is biblically sound, engaging, and age-appropriate.
2. Volunteer Management
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to assist with Children’s Church programming.
- Schedule volunteers and ensure proper coverage for all age groups during services.
- Provide support, encouragement, and ongoing development for the volunteer team.
3. Family and Community Engagement
- Partner with parents to encourage and support their role as spiritual leaders in their children’s lives.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding programming, events, and updates.
- Collaborate with other church ministries to ensure a seamless church experience for families.
4. Administrative Duties
- Maintain records of attendance, child safety, and volunteer background checks.
- Oversee the Children’s Church budget and supplies, ensuring good stewardship of resources.
- Implement and enforce church safety policies to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for children.
5. Special Events and Outreach
- Assist in planning and leading special events, such as holiday programs, special services, or family events.
- Encourage outreach to attract new families and integrate children into the life of the church.
Qualifications:
- A strong and growing Christian faith with a passion for children’s ministry.
- Experience working with children in a church, educational, or childcare setting.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with children, parents, and volunteers.
- Familiarity with age-appropriate Christian curriculum and teaching methods.
- Basic administrative skills, including proficiency in email, scheduling, and resource management.
- Must consent to a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A degree or coursework in Children’s Ministry, Education, or a related field.
- Experience in volunteer management and event planning.

Compensation:
