JOB TITLE: Transit Dispatch/Driver
ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: CPN Transit Program
SUPERVISOR: CPN Transit Director
STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
SALARY RANGE: $13.00-$15.00
Must have valid driver license and qualify for auto insurance.
ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.
JOB SUMMARY: Safely drive Transit vehicles in all traffic & weather conditions. Adhere to established scheduling; submit reports of mechanical issues and delays assist passengers. Prepares and issues the Transit schedules to the drivers on a daily basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for dispatching and keeping current records of transit client calls.
· Ability to answer multi phone lines.
· Driving/dispatching as needed.
· Provide friendly and courteous service.
· Answering multi-line phone system and entering data into the computer.
· Pre/Post- Inspection of Transit vehicles daily.
· Communicate with passengers of all kind and be able to answer questions they may have about Transit.
· Follow a specific timetable while on duty.
· Assist all passengers when needed.
· Must pass USDOT Drug and Alcohol random testing.
· ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
· Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
· Must be outgoing, professional, and customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record and insurable through tribal insurance.
- Previous driving experience in a similar vehicle preferred
- Must have general knowledge of a vehicle.
- Good phone etiquette.
- Must have computer experience.
- Knowledge of Shawnee and Tecumseh area.
- · Must be able to interact with Elders and the public.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Sitting or standing or walking for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing, and visual acuity
· Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs)
· Occasional lifting (up to 75 lbs)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Must be flexible to work any shift, start time, weekends, and holidays
