SUPERVISOR: Director of WIC
FLSA: Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $12.95- $18.32
* OKC location
5401 S Western Location 3 days a week
2305 N Meridian 2 days a week
ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.
May be assigned to provide services to other entities including but not limited to Indian Children and will require a criminal history background screening.
JOB SUMMARY:
The WIC Paraprofessional will be responsible for assessing and documenting each participant’s medical and nutritional eligibility for enrollment on the WIC Program. Only the WIC Specialists medically trained to be paraprofessionals will be considered competent to evaluate medical and nutritional risks and prescribe the food packages. This is a full-time position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The WIC Specialist/Paraprofessional responsibilities are as follows:
· Completion of Nutrition Assistant Training as well as continuing education for this position.
· Must be able to be trained in the operation of the WIC software program, SPIRIT, or any other WIC software.
· Completion of paperwork/documentation necessary for enrollment in the WIC Program.
· Assessment of income eligibility.
· Assigning participant ID number.
· Reload eWIC benefits on EBT card
· Appointment scheduling.
· Data entry of participant’s file on computer.
· Mailing of notices. (terminations, missed appointments)
· Mailing of transfer information.
· Physician Statements for special formula
· Measurement of height and weight of participant.
· Performing the hematological tests for anemia such as a hemoglobin or hematocrit.
· Assessing the participant’s dietary intake form.
· Explanation of eligibility or non-eligibility to participant.
· Determination of high risk participants.
· Must have and maintain valid Oklahoma Driver’s license
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- High School diploma or GED Certificate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be computer proficient. Ability to be seated for prolonged periods of time while performing repetitive work at the computer. Some bending, stretching and lifting.
