What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Banker II, Float position at Citizens Bank?
Summary of Job Responsibilities:
Drives banking center performance results through strong individual sales performance. Has a strong understanding of Citizen Banks products and services. Supports the daily operations of the banking center while providing superior customer service. The Personal Banker Float will travel to branches across our footprint on a frequent basis.
Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering regulations, bank policies and procedures. Position involves considerable customer contact and travel to all branch locations and bank departments.
Essential Job Duties:
- Travels to branches within the banking footprint on a frequent basis for an undetermined length of time, due to staffing situations, vacations, illness, leaves of absences etc.
- Provides guidance and participates in daily operational and sales activities to achieve customer service and business growth objectives.
- It is the responsibility of a personal banker to assess their client's needs and help them find Citizens Bank's products to enhance their financial health.
- Informs and guides customers in opening their bank accounts, by providing various account alternatives to customers, such as the type of checking and savings accounts, overdraft protection etc.
- Gathers customer's data to propose consumer products and takes credit applications
- Drives sales through excellent customer service and proactive customer engagement.
- Focuses on key behaviors that result in quality new accounts that are relationship-based.
- Leads the conversion of service requests to sales.
- Builds camaraderie among the team to help deliver on service and sales goals.
- Processes customer transactions accurately and in compliance with current policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Follows all regulatory, security, and audit requirements. Protects customer information.
- Ensures that proper cash control and audit procedures are being adhered to.
- Seeks opportunities for internal partner referrals, such as lending officers.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Personal Banker is a financial professional who requires more than just financial skills as interpersonal abilities are equally important because the role involves managing access and providing financial advice on what kind of products Citizens Bank has to improve
- Ability to communicate and build relationships with others.
- Active listening, dependability, trouble shooting, motivation and being very observant are a must.
- Exhibits excellent judgment in handling confidential information
- The ability to communicate, speak clearly, and demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills necessary to represent the bank in dealing with customers.
- The ability to read, write, and speak English (multiple languages is a plus); count currency and coin; and to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
Minimum Level of Performance and Training Required
- High school education or GED required with some college preferred. Pursuing higher education, preferably in finance or related fields is a plus.
- Two years previous Banking experience or one year banking experience within Citizens Bank
- Two years previous customer service background and cash handling experience.
- Two years previous computer experience with Windows, Microsoft Office, and other computer applications OR one year experience with Citizens Bank's technology
- Knowledge of consumer loans products, taking credit applications and making recommendations is a plus.
- Will have individual established goals to meet.Successful completion of pre-employment test, drug screen, background check, and credit check.
Working Conditions:

- Required to stand for long periods when providing customer services.
- Exposed to potential robbery conditions. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the risk.
