Job Overview
Citizens Care & Rehabilitation Center, a long term care nursing home in Havre de Grace and rated #1 for Quality Care in Harford County (& #7 in the State of MD) is in search of a Part Time Laundry Aide. 24 hours/week including every other weekend 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Covid-19 Primary Vaccination and Annual Influenza Vaccination are Mandatory and conditions of employment.
This position is responsible for laundering garments and linens belonging to the residents and facility. Must be able to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a steady work pace to produce an adequate supply of clean garments and linens
- Responsible for sorting/grouping items to launder
- Transfer garments and linens to/from the washer and dryer
- Identify and report malfunctions in equipment
- Fold and stack garments and linens
- Report garments or linens in ill repair to the Supervisor
- Distribute clothing to resident rooms
- Prevent the spread of infection through proper handling, storage, washing and transporting of all garments and linens
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Requires the ability to read and write and follow instructions.
- Requires excellent verbal communications skills and a cooperative demeanor.
- Projects good judgment and performs all duties satisfactorily and timely.
- Exhibits excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Previous laundry experience preferred.
Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, push, pull, balance, reach, grasp, kneel, climb and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to withstand warm working conditions and repetitive movement. Exposure to blood borne pathogens and cleaning chemicals.
