Head Start Teacher
Citizens For Citizens, Inc. Head Start, Early Head Start & Child Care – Fall River, MA
You’ll join a team of caring, motivated professionals who prepare children for preschool and kindergarten through experiences that develop their cognitive, social and emotional skills.

As a Head Start Teacher you will provide preschoolers with open– ended exploration, teacher guided activities, structured and sensory based play activities to foster the children’s curiosity, engagement, reasoning and problem solving.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serves as a leader of a collaborative team.
- Encourages all parents/families to engage in their child’s development.
- Ensures implementation of Head Start performance standards and E.E.C. regulations.
- Implements a plan for ensuring attendance compliance and awareness.
- Screens, evaluates and assesses individual children to determine needs and individual programming.
- Develops lesson plans to support School Readiness for all children in collaboration with co-teacher.
- Ensures clear consistent communication and documentation
- Conducts observations throughout classroom routine.
- Facilitates Parent Teacher Conferences, Home Visits and Team Meetings.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or related field
- Lead Teacher certified through EEC
- Experience working with Preschool population
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday, 35 Hours Per week, 52 weeks a year
Pay rate:
- $23.41 an hour with Associate’s Degree
- $27.70 an hour with Bachelor’s degree

Physical requirements:
Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs; ability to maintain full attention at all times when working with children and/or families; sufficient mobility and strength to repeatedly sit, stand, carry infants/toddlers, balance, stoop, walk, stretch, bend, reach, kneel, and have full range of body motion; ability to react and move quickly; sufficient vision and hearing to perform job duties; ability to drive/operate a motor vehicle; sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to perform job duties.
Must have a physical every two years. A physician’s certificate is required. New employees must have proof of TB test within the prior year. Thereafter, employees must have an assessment of TB every year.

Pay: $23.41 - $27.70 per hour
