Audit - Home Services

Summary: Security Plan Life Insurance Company is searching for a detail-oriented Home Services Auditor to perform audit reviews for our internal clients. This role involves traveling to various district locations and/or funeral homes to examine financial records, collections, and data entries within the company’s audit system. Responsibilities also include performing field audits and conducting phone interview audits as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

• 
  Essential Job Duties:
• Conduct audits on agent and customer accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in resolving complex issues and provide problem-solving support.
• Meet goals and deadlines for special projects as assigned.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Audit Manager or corporate executives.
• Research payment history to determine which debit(s) require a field audit or phone audit, including both established customers and newly written business.
• Conduct field audits by visiting customers and perform phone audits for arrears cases or customers not reached during field visits.
• Utilize the company’s computer system for research and auditing purposes.
• Assist with accounting tasks, such as bank reconciliations, journal entries, and other projects assigned by the audit/accounting department.
• Visit funeral homes to compare their records with company, ensuring all collected premiums are properly remitted by funeral home and credited.
• Submit weekly audit activity reports to management.
• Collaborate with sales managers to monitor and ensure the timely remittance of funds from funeral homes to the company. If funds are not remitted by the funeral home in a timely manner, notify sales managers so they can address the issue with agents and funeral homes.
• Submit weekly audit activity reports to management.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED
• Must have reliable transportation as job requires traveling to various locations.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a challenging environment.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Self-motivated and proactive with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with various teams and departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

• Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8AM – 5PM with occasional after hours.
• Ability to travel
• Experience as an auditor preferred
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
