Responsibilities:

The Haven from Hunger team member will be responsible for the successful execution and operation of the Citizens Inn Haven from Hunger pantry and kitchen operations.

· Check in pantry guests or dinner guests, as directed.

· Aid pantry guests that may need it.

· Help in food prep for take home meals given at dinner time.

· Assist in preparation and assemble for the Delivery Program.

· Ensure health and safety practices in the kitchen.

• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, pantry and storage areas including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning as needed.
• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen equipment related to storing, prepping and cooking food items.
• Maintain sanitation of materials used for pre-bagging of groceries and take home meals.
• Dispose of trash on a regular basis.
• Adhere to the pest and waste management plan for Citizens Inn Haven from Hunger.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and ensure the work area is free of odor, insects and other pests.
• Follow proper food handling techniques to keep food safe and sanitary when receiving, storing, prepping, cooking, and serving food.
• Ensure a safe, sanitary, healthy environment
• Model a trauma informed approach.
• Practice and manage self-care and seek support as needed.
• Abide by all agency policies regarding boundaries, strict confidentiality, and ethical standards always.
• Maintain and adhere to all local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations pertaining to safety, sanitation and food service.
• Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
• Schedule will be based on 32-hour work week as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am-4pm. *Wednesday shifts may be alternated with regular workdays to assist with deliveries, unloading, staging, cleaning, reorganizing and home deliveries.

• Other tasks as deemed appropriate by Supervisor.

Requirements:

· ServSafe Certification preferred.

· At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant setting.

· Direct Kitchen food prep experience preferred.

· Supermarket retail experience preferred.

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

· Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

· Ability to work with a diverse population required.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team required.

· Reliable attendance and punctual reporting to work required.

· Bilingual Spanish, Portuguese, Albanian or Russian-speaking candidates are encouraged to apply.

· CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.

· Allergen Certificate preferred.

Supervision Received:

This position will report directly to the Program Director at Haven from Hunger.

Salary:

$15/hour
