JOB SUMMARY
Keeps assigned areas clean and attractive with emphasis on infection prevention. Uses disinfectants and other supplies according to manufacturer specifications and infection prevention guidelines.
Job Specific:
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, damp wipes with disinfectant. (EF)
- Removes trash and soiled linen. (EF)
- Cleans and stores hospital equipment as directed. (EF)
- Reports needed maintenance repairs. (EF)
- Documents all tasks and make record of patient requests and complaints in room cleaning. (EF)
Hospital:
- Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
- Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
- Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
- Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to read and write in English and perform basic math
- Consistent work history or education
- Ability learn and apply proper techniques in cleaning a healthcare environment
PREFERRED:
- High School diploma
- Two years cleaning experience in healthcare or other industry
- Proven work experience as a housekeeper or custodian in healthcare
