What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Surgical Technologist position at Citizens Memorial?
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is recruiting for a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the team at our main hospital in Bolivar, Missouri.
The OR consists of 23 active surgeons who perform an average of 372 surgeries/month. The OR is comprised of 10 operating room suites: 6 outpatient, 3 inpatient, and 1 C-section designated suite that runs on 4 teams of staff per day. Staff float between two locations - main hospital OR and the Douglas Medical Center - based on scheduling needs. The surgeons work to educate, train, and develop staff to operate fluidly together. Current specialties consist of: Orthopedics, Ortho Spine, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Urology, Podiatry, Ophthalmology, and Pain Management.
A typical day will include: Assisting with supplies and needs of the department, perioperative care of the patient, preparing the operating room and equipment, providing support to physicians and nurses while the procedure is underway, and handling specimens collected. The Surgical Technologist maintains a safe and clean patient care environment, knows and applies aseptic and sterile techniques as applicable, actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications; behaves in a manner consistent with the mission and objectives of CMH, and performs other duties as requested.
This position is: Full-time consisting of four 10-hour days, 7am-5:30pm, and rotating on-call with 1 week night per week and one weekend per month. CMH recognizes 6 national holidays during which the department will be closed and an on-call team will be assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Completion of a Surgical Technologist program with an Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
- Experience: 1 year of experience preferred
- Skills: Patient care, communication, organization, teamwork, attention to detail
- Licensure/Certification: NCCT or NBSTSA certification required
