What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technician position at Citizens Memorial?
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is recruiting a Surgical Technician to join our staff in the Main OR.
The OR consists of 23 active Surgeons who perform an average of 372 surgeries/month. The OR has 6 outpatient, 3 inpatient, and 1 C-section designated suites that run 4 teams of staff/day. The surgeons work to educate, train, and develop staff to operate fluidly together.
A typical day will include: Scrub Surgical Technologist- the scrub surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
This position is: Full-time Days 7:00 a.m. - 5:30p.m., Position does require call average of 4-5 days/month
Job Requirements:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent
- Experience: One-year surgical scrub experience
- Skills: N/A
- Licensure/Certification:
- Non-Certified Technician: Must work toward or obtaining NBSTSA certification or NCCT certified tech in surgery within 24 months of employment. Or Licensed as a practical or registered nurse
- Certified Surgical Technologist. NBSTSA certification required as a CST or LPN/RN First Assist (FA) Maintain certification current.
