Citizens National Bank has an excellent opportunity available in our Bluffton, Ohio office for a Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for a variety of regular and recurring moderately to highly complex operational and accounting functions to support bank operations.
A typical day may include the following:
- Is responsible for the Accounts Payable function for the bank on a daily basis. Advises supervisor of any significant developments.
- Develops and maintains the Accounts Payable system to meet management information needs.
- Verifies approval for all invoices, prepares entries of invoices to the ITI System and disburses funds according to company policy.
- Prepares Accounts Payable reports and maintains AP files.
- Participates in disbursement activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control and corporate tax compliance.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, and making adjustments.
- Analyzes vendor accounts; Reports any unusual billing procedures.
- Answers Account Payable phone inquiries including vendor inquiries.
- Processes and pays employee expense reports monthly.
- Responsible for daily and monthly accounting department duties such as reconciliations and management reports.
- This position requires on-site presence for regular, successful performance: teamwork, face-to-face interaction with peers/management and the ability to utilize the in-house software and hardware is required. Adherence to the Bank attendance policy is required as an essential function of this position.
- Must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions; must get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; be able to perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree in Business or related field.
- High School Graduate plus two years of related work experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have stellar written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of professionalism
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts of difficult procedural and technical nature and draw valid conclusions.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft products.
