Meal Delivery Program Overview
Our Meals on Wheels program has been delivering nutritious meals to homebound seniors since 1979. With the increasing demand for service, we now provide over 400 daily meals. Our dedicated team of volunteer drivers ensures that clients receive not only hot meals but also essential interaction and companionship.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Attend mandatory trainings to familiarize yourself with our procedures and policies.
- Pick up meals and route sheets on assigned dates and follow route directions to deliver meals to all listed clients.
- Report any unusual issues or concerns related to clients to our office staff or Case Manager.
- Return coolers to the meal site after each delivery.
- Complete and submit monthly travel vouchers listing hours worked and miles completed for mileage reimbursement.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A valid driver's license is required to participate in this program.
- Valid car insurance must be submitted with your application.
- Please select one location to volunteer from East Citrus, West Citrus, Central Citrus, or Hernando.
