Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service while accurately processing transactions. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for handling cash, credit, and debit transactions, ensuring a smooth checkout experience for our customers in a fast paced bagel store. Your ability to engage with customers and promote products will be key to enhancing their dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to assist customers effectively.
• Perform retail math calculations to ensure accurate pricing and change.
• Make coffee drinks.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely while following company policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.
• Assist in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory as needed.
• Uphold phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries over the phone.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Cashier or in a retail environment is not necessary but is preferred.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems is an advantage.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
• Basic understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing.
• Ability to handle cash register operations efficiently and accurately.
• Strong sales skills with an interest in promoting products through demos.
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer calls professionally.
