Now Hiring Water Aerobics Fitness Instructors
We are seeking Fitness Instructors to lead Water Aerobics classes. The position involves providing engaging instruction to participants with varying levels of fitness, skill, and ability.
This position may be scheduled at any or all of the aquatics facilities as needed including Paul Derda Recreation Center, Broomfield Community Center and the Bay Aquatic Park during the summer.
Currently recruiting for substitute teachers.
Schedule varies:
7am to 7pm Monday through Friday
8am to 10am Saturday and Sunday
Salary Range: $22.20 - $30.04/hour
Develops and leads participants in cardiovascular and/or muscle conditioning exercises appropriate for the level of the class that is safe and in line with the course description.
Instructs participants in proper exercise heart rates.
Monitors participants and their ability to ensure proper use of equipment and technique.
Provides feedback to class participants.
Maintains current and accurate attendance records.
Interact with class participants and demonstrate exercises or training activities that may include the following actions based on the format that is being taught: aerobic dance exercises, jogging, dancing, stepping, marching, hopping, skipping, jumping, bending, stretching, swimming, weight lifting, full body movement, etc.
Training
Must possess and maintain a current national fitness/aquatic certification such as ACE (American Council on Exercise), AFAA (Aerobic Fitness Association of America), or AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association) Instructor certification.
Must possess and maintain a minimum of an Adult CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
Experience
Less than 1 year experience required in teaching group fitness classes.
The Aqua Aerobics position prefers previous instructor experience.
OR
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the Necessary Applicant Traits.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years of age. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.Work is generally scheduled in advance with classes scheduled Monday through Sunday and may include early morning hours, afternoon hours and evening hours.
Must provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the participant during instruction which includes a full range of physical activities including: performing and maintaining aerobic exercise, bending, stretching, and lifting minimal weight.
